In the Qur'an God has drawn attention to the relativity of a thousand years. Jesus Messiah has been raised to the Presence of God in a thousand years and came back from the Presence of God in another thousand years. But that is as long as a blink of an eye. The Prophet Jesus (pbuh) closed his eyes, been raised to the Presence of God, opened his eyes and been sent back to the world. That is it.

There will be earthquakes, disasters, troubles, civil wars, coups. There will be a fascist uprising and a communist uprising and that will cover the whole world. There will be a blood bath.

Our Prophet (saas) has hundreds of hadiths about the portents of the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). These hadiths are even stronger than mutawatir hadiths because they have been realized exactly as foretold by our Prophet (saas). If a hadith has been realized that becomes a clear ruling.

The Prophet Jesus (pbuh) will be concealed, Mahdi (pbuh) will be more out in the open.  That is because the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) would not be communicating religion openly. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be openly and apparently victorious and Jesus Messiah will be secretly victorious. He would not conduct his activities openly as he would then attract attention. But he should be currently active in politics.
