Setting Muslims against one another is not acceptable; the right thing to do is to better Muslims, to correct their mistakes and to make them useful. There are only a handful of intellectuals among Muslims. Why should we oppress one of those few we have? We should win them over. If those handful of people join together that would constitute an amazing unity. It would be a grave mistake to try to crush those “handfuls.”
In such turmoil, Muslims attempting to go at each other hammer and tongs, attempting to spend each other and especially attempting to set intellectual Muslim masses against each other might be a PKK Project. It seems that an instruction has been given from somewhere to crush all elements that would resist the PKK and distigration. We should be very careful in the face of this.

Withdrawing our police officers, our soldiers from that region, decreasing the security forces would drag the majority of the people living there into fear and into feeling respect to the power of PKK. Even though the people of the South East [of Turkey] are devoutly religious they are voting for the left wing. This shows the severity of the pressure applied on them in that region.
