A Muslim would not respond to foolishness with foolishness, to instability with instability, to rage with rage, to anger with anger. One needs to be rational and always be aware of the fact that God is with him; that is because God is the One Who makes the others do those abnormal acts. Consequently a Muslim would be aware of the fact that no one is an independent being, so he would not worry.

God is the Creator of even the maddest or the most abnormal acts. Individuals are not the perpetrators; no one can ever act outside destiny. That is why one needs to be moderate, poised and rational when evaluating incidents taking place.

In order to set our conscience in motion, God shows us inoffensive people being oppressed and killed, being burned. If we do not act on our good conscience we would be committing a crime and that is unacceptable. We will serve Islam with all our might.

Although the Qur'an is very easy to understand, it offers incredible wisdom.

If no one ever objected to us as we preached the religion, if everyone accepted everything we said, supported us, praised us, what do you think would happen in the Hereafter? The reward would be much less. But if there is objection, if you are working and making an effort despite that objection, the reward will be immense. God creates resistance, a lot of resistance, only so that Muslims will be more greatly rewarded . It is a gift of God to Muslims.

The Prophet Moses (pbuh) preached to Pharaoh, and the Prophet Abraham preached to Nimrod. A Muslim will speak to and preach to anyone, be they atheist, communist or whatever.

Our Prophet (pbuh) spoke with Christians and with Jews. He was friends with them. He spoke and preached to pagans and idol worshipers. That is what Islam requires.

What kind of interpretation of Islam is it if you do not preach to atheists and Darwinists? Who are we meant to command good and forbid evil to? Who are we meant to struggle against? Muslims have a duty to talk about Islam to Jews and Christians, known as the People of the Book, to atheists, to pagans and to everyone, in the kind of language they can understand. That is God’s command. You cannot talk about Islam using hostile language, only through love.

Weakness of faith renders one nonchalant. Such a person would not have the enthusiasm for spreading Islam, they would not have the strength to fear God. They only go after their own interests and their own problems. That is a grave problem.

The hypocrite always wants to be running around. He never wants to sit and read the Qur’an or preach Islam. This is a very powerful subconscious instinct. He wants to read about anything except Islam. The hypocrite attaches great importance to general culture. To irrelevant things like what is so and so in Africa doing. They never prioritize the Qur’an, or the signs that lead people to faith. Only empty things. Because that is how they can show off and put on airs.

God gives abundance and relief onto those who strive on His Path and casts troubles and problems on those with ill-will, as you can see. God opens the way for those striving on the good path. That is a miracle. God eases the way for those who want to advance on His path.

When one reads the Qur'an, wisdom settles in him and he becomes completely reasonable and rational. The Qur'an is the book of reason. It is a light that causes wisdom to settle in the brain. Normally wisdom is not formed in one's brain, only intelligence. When the human brain comes into contact with the Qur'an, wisdom and reason settles in. Otherwise, wisdom cannot possibly be attained, only intelligence can.

God appreciates martyrdom and getting wounded in His way. He appreciates preaching religion until late at night. What God also likes is the effortful search for His love. Only then God bestows this love and passion to those who are worthy.

Wisdom is a light shed upon us by God; it is given to mankind by God as an inspiration. Wisdom does not appear out of nowhere. If God takes the wisdom away, one would be astounded, become speechless, tongue-tied as if a mute.

Fiercely defending one's own desires is a mental illness. One should get a grip on himself in this situation and take refuge in God. He should ask himself, "How did I turn into such an abnormal person?" He should listen to what others have to say in a reasonable manner. A Muslim is open to 'al-amr bi-l-maʿrūf wa-n-nahy ʿani-l-munkar' (enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong). Therefore, he becomes wiser with ease.

How can something be considered right if the opposite of it does not exist? How will we be tried if satan and the lower-self do not exist? How can we recognize what is beautiful, what is right? It is impossible. It is impossible to achieve any higher love, any higher wisdom in this way. Then we would be no different than a child, we would not be able to develop.

One would ask for a long life to serve Islam. Without that service for Islam, life could turn into trouble for one. One might have a long life but end up in the depths of Hell as a result. An auspicious, long life is important. If that auspiciousness, those good deeds are lost, if one does not serve on the path of God, a long life would do him no good. A long life is important only to serve Islam.

When the one you preach religion to does not come to faith, your rank will advance even further. If he is less excited than you are, your rank will advance even further. You have nothing to lose.

People living in the swamp of unbelief are seriously polluted by that impurity. That smudge is seen on them. It reverberates on their flesh and bones, in their skin, in their gaze, in everything they have. That ruthless smudge of that merciless world contaminates them all over. When that person starts living by Islam, that smudge would leave that person gradually.

Let there be freedom, let there be democracy. Let everyone strive for that with all their might. That is because wisdom, the arts and science develops in a free environment. Under the pressure of a state, wisdom will be atrophied. People would not have power of understanding. There would be no artists, no scientists. Industry atrophies, people lose their eagerness to work.

Satan affects people in many various ways. Among these effects, one of the worst is the sense of inertness. Believers should counter it through their will and wisdom.

Satan, the self, dissentious people, blood-shedders, warmongers, thieves, evil people; all are a part of the trial. "If it weren't for " some people say. They will always exist. If the trial exists, so will they. What you must do is to respond to them patiently through wisdom and willpower and defeat them.

Forbidding looking beautiful, attractive, alluring, handsome does not lead to virtue, to chastity. Being virtuous and chaste is only possible through compassion and wisdom.

History does not repeat itself. The system always progresses and gives rise to innovations; it undergoes a change in every cycle. When people try to repeat their past deeds through a romantic historical conception, it will only lead to their ruin, their defeat. We live in the era of science, knowledge, love and piety. Victory can only be achieved through love and piety. There is no other way.

Assuming a humble attitude would not bring abatement for Muslims, it is not something depreciative. A Muslim is not in a position to be worried about his pride, but rather about the good of Islam.
