How could a Muslim ever drink vine with one's eyes open? It would get stuck in his/her throat and he/she wouldn't be able to do it even if he/she wants to. Adultery paralyzes a Muslim. In the time of our Prophet (saas) there was Buddhism, there were all kinds of mischief. There was irreligiousness, there was idolatry. The dissension was not eliminated. What Mahdi (pbuh) would do is to annihilate the mischief in his own time. The verse that states; "Strive until there is no more dissension and the religion is God's alone," means the whole world would become Muslims.
