Ours is the world of trial. The important thing is to make Islam prevail in the world. The rest is not at all important. Once Islam prevails in the world, everyone would be at ease, everything you have would be under guarantee. If Islam does not prevail in the world, it would turn into a living hell.

Eat, drink and travel; anyone can do that. There will be hardships, there will be illnesses, there will be difficulties, there will be troubles and scourges and you will love God deeply just the same against all odds. That is what Almighty God loves the most.

Troubles and afflictions only sharpen and strengthen people. This is the way God disciplines. Or else a great portion of people would remain heedless.

How can something be considered right if the opposite of it does not exist? How will we be tried if satan and the lower-self do not exist? How can we recognize what is beautiful, what is right? It is impossible. It is impossible to achieve any higher love, any higher wisdom in this way. Then we would be no different than a child, we would not be able to develop.

The blather of unbelief is so difficult that it is a trial in this world. It necessitates patience, that is for one. Secondly it necessitates attention. From which point that impertinent attitude is to be refuted should be investigated separately. These are not always from the same point of view, they all have to be proven with verses and then a rationale should be propounded.

Almighty God gives permission to the satan as a requisite of the trial in this world. With this wisdom, people are perfectly tested. The lower self matures in the struggle against the satan and it becomes perfect.

God tests us with a beautiful trial. Actually that is also a beautiful education. In the end maturity, kindness and a personality suitable for the morality of Heaven develop.

Something happens and we act patiently. But we also reinforce our patience phase by phase. What is this, then? This is education. An education for what? An education for Heaven. God chooses a handful of Muslims and educates them here. When they are directly put in Heaven, what happened to the Prophet Adam (pbuh) happens. It doesn't work that way, that is to say. With the education given the mind settles, the personality develops and one starts appreciating the blessings of God.

God tests people extensively. The trial in this world is not an ordinary trial. There is a weighty trial, a weighty education. This is not solely a trial; actually it is education, only the name of it is “trial”.

In the Qur'an, God says "We tested you with many trials" (Surah Ta ha; 40) to the Prophet Moses (pbuh). 'We have tested you,' God says. And then he (Prophet Moses (pbuh)) becomes a prophet with firm resolve. If the things he survived were ordinary things, he would have been an ordinary person. But since he has been tested extraordinarily, he became an extraordinary personality.

Materialists say, "If God exists, He should turn this world into Heaven. Why are there all those troubles and pains?" Look at the reasoning here. Haven't you come here to be tested? Since you are not here to have fun, since you are here to be tested, of course there will be pain and troubles. Of course there will be hardship. How are you going to be tested without those hardships?

Muslims become handsome with faith, they become beautiful with trial. If that trial is taken away, Muslims would be devastated, may God forbid. I mean if one does not come across any difficulties, that means they acquire no good merits. We came to this world to be tested; that is why Almighty God says, "Or did you suppose that you would enter the Garden without facing the same as those who came before you?"

Love is the purpose of the foundation of this world. Almighty God would not create the universe if it was not for love. He creates for love. Love is also the purpose of Heaven. Love is the purpose of the trial [of the life of this world] as well. What God wants from us is love.

In this world the trial we are living is a seemingly one; actually, in the esoteric sense, we are being educated, this world is a course. Because God already knows what we will do. He is the One Who created us. In other words, God knows what we will do since eternally before. We have already been here and done that. The point of this trial is to train us, to show us our true selves. God makes us face our true selves. In other words, He makes us love ourselves. He is preparing us for the afterlife.

God wants us to love Him sincerely and honestly and this is possible only through trial. By going through trial, we witness our love towards God as well.

The palaces, the rivers, the fruits of Heaven; none of them would have a meaning if it weren't for love, for passion. And to achieve true love, we have to go through training, through suffering.

God checks up faith related sensitivities. Starting from the Prophet Adam (pbuh) until the Last Day, all people will be put through a perfect trial without any exceptions. No one has ever been granted any privileges that would remove their freewill of mind.

God says that, "This world is not the place for play and idle sport. The Heaven is the place for play and idle sport. This world is a place for trial." That is why if you fasten yourself to this world, you would be stuck with it, says God. But if you aim for the Hereafter, if you aim My approval, I will make you happy for all eternity, you will have fun and laugh. Those who fasten themselves to this world would merely grovel, let me say that much. They would merely wallow and flounder. Nothing else would ever happen.

Khidr (pbuh) tests people from time to time just as the way he tested the Prophet Moses (pbuh). People do not realize they are being tested by him. He not only tests but also educates people.

A Muslim should hold on to God to death. He should accept being martyred, becoming a veteran, to be imprisoned, to be put into an asylum. He should be able to be thankful to God when those things happen. Then God opens his path to the utmost.

Satan, the self, dissentious people, blood-shedders, warmongers, thieves, evil people; all are a part of the trial. "If it weren't for " some people say. They will always exist. If the trial exists, so will they. What you must do is to respond to them patiently through wisdom and willpower and defeat them.

There would be no trial in this world if people who have no faith, mock religion, and are against Islam did not exist. God creates such people even if they do not exist in the first place. They have to exist so that believers can be compared to them, so that their trial gains meaning through them.

The period of the system of Mahdi is a long one. The reason this period will be as long as 40 years is so that it possesses a great spiritual merit. Otherwise, God could establish the reign of Islam in one year if He wished so. However, the believers would earn one year’s worth of spiritual merit in that case. God extended the period of the system of Mahdi to 40 years so that it has great spiritual merit.

God created an amazing environment for testing. The short human life, diseases, troubles; they are all a part of our test in this world. Most people are stuck in their test, not really seeing they’re being tested. Because they are not sincere with God, God punishes them.

Muslims should be gentle, kind and patient in the face of difficulties. All prophets had gone through difficult tests.
