They are trying to build prestige for Öcalan. Almost all of our 80 million people – that is because some people are forced to side with the PKK - do not love Öcalan at all. They hate him because he caused the martyrdom of so many of our soldiers; they all loathe him. They still have a grudge against him. Consequently such propaganda would not work. They are pushing in vain.

Due to the geographical structure of the region, technically the PKK would not lay down their weapons anyway. There is ISIS in the region, there are many radical organizations. These organizations all are out to get the PKK and kill them when they find them. According to their own mindset, PKK militants believe that they have to have weapons for self defence. In this case, that is all that it takes. They would never lay down their weapons, it is not possible.

It is technically not possible for the PKK to lay down their weapons. That is a remorseless diversion; that is a shameful, grim and very unbecoming assertion.
