God has created man in a way that he would feel that need. One would be suffocated if he doesn’t live all these beauties. One would ask for a long life to serve Islam. Without that service for Islam, life could turn into trouble for one. One might have a long life but end up in the depths of Hell as a result. An auspicious, long life is important. If that auspiciousness, those good deeds are lost, if one does not serve on the path of God, a long life would do him no good. Yet if you were to say, "We will give you five thousand liras in the morning without any provision", he would not sleep, he would not even blink until the morning. If you were to tell him that he should wash his face fifty times, and wash his arms fifty times and his feet fifty times and that he will be given five thousand liras every morning, millions of people would line up to do this. See that God promises eternal Heaven, yet he fails to do as God commands, because he does not believe in it: If he believed, he would have done that. Quote
