It has nothing to do with showing a lot of effort. The whole point is to love God sincerely; to love God with a deep, profound love. If you love God, you are strong. Speaking Arabic is not a requisite for interpreting the Qur’an correctly and for fully abiding by the Qur’an. Had speaking Arabic been a necessity, millions of Arabs would be the best at it.
