Imam Mahdi will be a leader supported by the whole world. Mahdi (pbuh) will not have an opponent. Who will make him accepted? God will make him accepted. God will reveal it to the hearts of people and people will be convinced about their allegiance to the Mahdi (pbuh) in a way that they wouldn't understand themselves. They will strangely understand that they love him. They will strangely start trusting him and believe that he will be the one saving them; they will believe that he will be the one instrumental in their salvation. Quote

Imam Mahdi (pbuh) is the one who provides an environment for Jesus Messiah. Jesus Messiah comes as a guest, so he would not have such an active task. He would be very influential in the foreign policy of the world; together with his students, he would be influential on people like Putin and Prince Charles of England. But he would have such a significant influence. That is because Jesus Messiah cannot make himself apparent, but that is not the case with Mahdi (pbuh). Quote
