It is not possible to carry out possitive studies with one’s lower self. Lower selves cannot be exonerated. It is a force that is active in a person’s soul constantly commanding evil.

The lower self, jealousy and egocentricity make one’s body do abnormal acts eventually. People assume that nothing bad will happen if one follows his lower self; actually lots of things happen. It would ruin a man. The lower self is the propelling force in those who commit suicide. It drives them mad and drags them into committing suicide. They also commit murders because they abide by their lower selves.

People generally do not attach necessary importance to the concept of the lower self. Actually it is a special force embedded in humans, it is a negative power; may God forbid it might drive one crazy and might even make one commit murder, it might make one commit suicide. All these troubles happen under the influence of the lower self. People imagine that nothing would happen if they go by their lower selves but actually lots of things happen. It might take one over and drag them into troubles,; the lower self suffocates one.

People die every day. We are living in the world, this is a place of testing. People get sick every day. How do they come up with the idea of mourning? There is no such thing in the Qur'an. There is no such understanding in Islam. It only has a place in idolatry, in the totemist mentality, in the belief system of the idolaters. This is a characteristic of pagan religions, but there is no such thing in Islam.

It is evident that this world is a place specifically created for training. It has no aspect to be devoted for or to have an ambition about. When one doesn’t turn it into an ambition God helps Muslims in wondrous ways and creates an amazing environment for them.

A Muslim should see the beautiful things and also the ugly ones; yet he should prefer the beautiful things and look for the wisdom behind the ugliness. There is nothing ugly in the Heaven. Ugliness is only created in this world for testing. Everything and everyone is beautiful in the Heaven; trees, plants, people, children and all food.

What is the characteristic of a lover? It is never deserting the loved one despite all sorts of sufferings and hardships. A lover would never leave his loved one even under the hardest conditions. God is showing us how much we are living with that spirit of a lover. That is because in the Hereafter, the existence and the manifestations of God will be the greatest pleasure we will be given.

One would never leave his beloved one. God is the real Beloved One. And even if 7000 years pass by, one would endure all sorts of ordeals. That is the characteristic of a lover. God would approve to see one enduring everything because of love for Him. That is completely a sign of love.

Almighty God would of course test your love. See how devoted you are to Him; He will of course test that. And He will show that to you as well. You will see how much you love God. You will see how loyal you are.

God increases the disasters that fall upon His beloved servants. If disasters do not befall on you, you should think about what is wrong with you. If there are disasters following you, be thankful to God. Disasters are like winds, they pass by and their beauties remain behind.

God takes patience as a basis. This is a place for trial. It would not be possible to get instant results. There has to be an enduring, long period of time. We need to go through a trial.

This world is not real, the Hereafter is because this world is a place of trial, it possesses the characteristics of both Heaven and Hell. But Muslims push aside those characteristics of Hell by using their wisdom. And because they thus bring forth the characteristics of Heaven, they appear as exquisite beings.

This is not a place for plays and amusement; it is not a place to merely earn livelihood. We’ve come here to be tested.

This is a world that would not let you stay in your houses in comfort and deal with your checks, title deeds and your trade. It is not a world that you can be graduated from your school in peace and get married and deal with your own business. God would not give way to this. God did not create this world for this. God wants the appearance of the Mahdi; He wants the appearance of the Jesus Messiah and the global rule of Islam.

One should look at everything with compassion, mercy and through the eyes of reason and he should be calming. We are being tested in this short life on this world. Some people might yield to their lower-selves. But one would not be abandoning religion when he does so, he would just be committing a sin and making a mistake that is all.

To criticize one's self and not claiming to be free of blame would make a Muslim adopt the character of a guide. A person's criticizing himself would make him wise and healthy. Exalting one's self would make one sick. It makes one crazy. When one criticizes himself, when one criticizes his lower self, he would be exalted; he would become wise and smart.

The life in this world is really very short, we will all be gone. May we all go to Heaven insha'Allah. We are in a very short period of trial. We should not offend each other for insignificant things, we should not upset each other and we should choose all we say very carefully.

Of course all mistakes, all abnormal behaviors are revealed to every people. Because they do those mistakes knowingly, their faces are darkened. For instance their voices become weak, they start crying, they get angry, their blood tension peaks or drops. They feel that pain because they do not act as Allah has commanded. If they act in line with what Allah commanded their hearts would be at ease.

Ambition for fame does not become a Muslim. In order to educate the lower-self a person should constantly see his/her lower-self in weakness. He /She should submit to Allah, feel great love to his/her brothers and sisters, approach them with affection and live the enthusiasm of being a servant to them.

If one does not criticize himself and sees himself as sufficient and above criticism, he would become insane. A Muslim should certainly criticize himself and have others criticize him. This is necessary for one's sanity or else one's mental health would be disrupted; his judgment and reasoning would be impaired. His foresight and perception would be blocked. Have a look at those around you, you will see. Avoiding criticisms would cause instability and would prevent one to be reasonable.

In order to be stable and reasonable one should certainly criticize himself. Even if it is once in a while, he should certainly criticize himself and one should do so when he is in the company of others. Only then one could become a stable, reasonable person. That is a miracle of the Qur'an. A solid, tangible miracle.

Forgiveness is a characteristic God appreciates greatly. That is because revenge might give a lowly pleasure to one's soul, but forgiving is hard; I mean it [forgiveness] necessitates will-power and wisdom. That is because in forgiveness one does not achieve satisfaction, but revenge might bring satisfaction. That is why God takes forgiveness as a basis.

The human body tends to behave like an animal when left to its own devices; it will just want to eat and sleep, it will easily get scared and act selfishly. One should balance out that animalistic side by means of faith. One shouldn't allow oneself to act like an animal.

If one allows his lower self to take control, the lower self will start acting like an animal; it will act primitively like one.

Religion does not serve politics, politics serve religion. We are making politics serve religion. Politics is simply a servant. Religion is the law of God. Knowingly or unwittingly, everyone would serve religion.
