When a person looks carefully, he clearly sees the infinite power and wisdom of God in every area—from daily life to professional life, from social relations to the magnificent order of the universe. It can easily be understood that every detail, from the greatest to the smallest, occurs within an order under the control of Almighty God. This perspective enables a person to recognize God, to increase his closeness to God, to strengthen his spiritual depth, and to mature his faith. For faith deepens through attentiveness, contemplation, and clarity of consciousness. Our Almighty Lord repeatedly calls His servants in the Qur’an to be heedful. Because heedlessness conceals the truth. Our Lord states:
“Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to God. He knows what you are engaged upon...” (Surat An-Nur, 64)
As emphasized in the verse, no moment of a person and no state of his occurs outside the knowledge of God. When a person lives with this awareness, he understands that none of the events he encounters in his life occur by coincidence, and that every detail takes place under the control of God and by His permission.
One Who Remembers God Often Becomes Close to God

God’s encompassing everything means that His power, knowledge, and mercy manifest in every speck of the universe. For someone who comprehends such a truth, the most natural inclination is to remember God frequently. Because remembering God means living with the knowledge that He is with him at every moment.
Dhikr (remembrance) goes beyond words repeated with the tongue; it expresses the heart and soul establishing a conscious and powerful connection with God. As a person remembers his Lord, he becomes the recipient of His divine love; his heart becomes filled with the love of God.
The human soul cannot attain complete satisfaction through worldly pleasures, for the true need of the soul is to turn toward its Lord Who created it and encompasses it in every situation. The soul attains true peace only through love for God. For this reason, the most important effort of a person should be striving to comprehend the all-encompassing existence and closeness of God by remembering Him in every situation.
Indeed, it is stated in the Qur’an:
“Say: ‘Call on God or call on the All-Merciful, whichever you call upon, the Most Beautiful Names are His.’ Do not be too loud in your prayer or too quiet in it, but try to find a way between the two.” (Surat Al-Isra, 110)
God Is the Center of Real Life
The life of a person who finds peace by remembering God goes beyond being an ordinary existence and turns into a life full of meaning that adds depth to his soul. In fact, human life has two aspects: one of them is form (sûret), meaning the visible life. The dimension of form consists of eating, drinking, sheltering, and meeting physical needs. From this perspective, a human being shares a common point with other living creatures.
The other is the real life, that is, the spiritual reality. The fundamental element that truly makes a person human, and that gives him value and superiority, is this real life. Real life becomes possible only through remembering God. When a person begins to remember God, his soul becomes purified, and as he turns toward Him it deepens. This step toward God spiritually revives the person and brings him peace. The perspective on life of those who experience such a transformation rises to a higher dimension. For God is at the center of their lives. Our Lord expresses the closeness of His Exalted Being to His servant as follows:
“It is We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein.” (Surah Qaf, 16)
God Is the One Who Creates, Directs, and Arranges Everything

Some people may not fully comprehend the greatness of God. They may also misinterpret the concept of tawakkul (trust in God), perceiving it as a submission arising from helplessness or as a hopeless waiting. However, tawakkul means knowing that at every moment both human beings and all existence are encompassed by the knowledge, will, and power of God. In the Qur’an, our Lord clearly emphasizes that God creates, arranges, and controls everything:
“When God created both you and what you do.” (Surat As-Saffat, 96)
As clearly emphasized in the verse, the person who comprehends the greatness of God and His all-encompassing sovereignty becomes attached to Him with complete trust and places his reliance upon Him.
Trust in God (tawakkul) means understanding that God created destiny with perfect wisdom, knowing the law of fate faithfully, and living in accordance with it. The past, present, and future are seen as a single moment in His presence.
“Your God is Allah alone, there is no god but Him. He encompasses all things in His knowledge.” (Surah Ta Ha, 98)
This truth reveals that human beings are not independent entities; rather, they are surrounded at every moment by the will of God. A person feels a desire, but the One who brings that desire into existence, shapes it, and brings it to its conclusion is God:
“But you will not will unless God wills, the Lord of all the Worlds.” (Surat At-Takwir, 96)
This awareness enables a person to understand having trust in God (tawakkul) correctly and encourages him to strive and live with trust in Him, removing the person from passivity and hopelessness. For as stated in the verse, “Your God is Allah alone, there is no god but Him. He encompasses all things in His knowledge.” (Surah Ta Ha, 98), God’s all-encompassing sovereignty is also manifested with His mercy and wisdom. The destiny decreed by God possesses a perfect order.
The Knowledge of God Encompasses Everything

The order of the universe and all created beings clearly reveals the existence of God’s knowledge that encompasses everything; everything has been created within His sublime knowledge in a flawless manner and with extremely fine details. This reality is expressed in the Qur’an as follows:
“The keys of the Unseen are in His possession. No one knows them but Him. He knows everything in the land and sea. No leaf falls without His knowing it. There is no seed in the darkness of the earth, and nothing moist or dry which is not in a Clear Book.” (Surat Al-An‘am, 59)
This verse reveals that the universe is not the product of random coincidences; rather, every detail has been carefully put in order through the encompassing knowledge of God. This situation shows that human beings must recognize their own weakness and deeply comprehend their dependence upon God. Indeed, God declares this dependence in another verse:
“There is no creature on the earth which is not dependent upon God for its provision...” (Surah Hud, 6)
Knowledge belongs only to God. Therefore, the greatest scholar is God. No matter how much knowledge a human being acquires, as he learns he realizes the limitations of his knowledge. Especially those who possess knowledge understand more clearly the perfection of the order created by God and the harmony within the greatness of the universe. God draws attention to this fact as follows:
“... Only those of His servants with knowledge have fear of God...” (Surat Al-Fatir, 28)
A person who comprehends that God possesses knowledge of everything also understands that nothing—whether hidden or open—can be concealed from Him. This awareness places a deep sense of responsibility upon the person. In a universe encompassed by God’s knowledge, every movement, word, and thought of ours is within His knowledge. This reality is informed in the Qur’an as follows:
“Say, ‘Whether you conceal what is in your breasts or make it known, God knows it. He knows what is in the heavens and what is on the Earth. God has power overall things.’” (Surah Al ‘Imran, 29)
“Does He Who created not know? He is the All-Pervading, the All-Aware.” (Surat Al-Mulk, 14)
God Encompasses Everything with Wisdom

God has encompassed everything in the universe and in human life with wisdom. The world has been created as a place of trial and education; therefore, the difficulties and hardships encountered are never meaningless. Through these hardships, a person matures, strengthens his patience, and increases his resilience. The trials of people who possess deep faith and strong love may generally be more difficult, for strong faith may require encountering greater trials created by God with wisdom.
“Nothing occurs, either in the earth or in yourselves, without its being in a Book before We make it happen. That is something easy for God.” (Surah Al-Hadid, 22)
A person who understands the secret of the trial increases in patience and endurance. For sometimes events that a person dislikes may contain great goodness within them. This truth is conveyed in the verse:
“… It may be that you hate something when it is good for you...” (Surat Al-Baqara, 216).
This understanding enables the believer to struggle with complete submission and patience without losing hope in the face of difficulties. As also stated in Surah Al ‘Imran, “… God encompasses what they do.” (Surah Al ‘Imran, 120). In this way, trials occupy an important place in human life both as a process of education and as a manifestation of God’s encompassing everything with His knowledge.
Conclusion: There Is No Deity Except God
God encompasses everything with His knowledge, power, and wisdom. From the smallest detail in the universe to the most subtle thought passing through a person’s heart, everything is within His knowledge. For a person who deeply comprehends this truth, the concept of coincidence no longer exists; the entirety of life gains meaning as a manifestation of a divine order. This great secret clearly shows that absolute power and sovereignty belong only to God. There is no deity besides Him. The true peace, security, and the satisfaction of the mind and heart of a human being are possible only through this consciousness of submission:
“God, there is no god but Him, the Living, the Self-Sustaining. He is not subject to drowsiness or sleep. Everything in the heavens and Earth belongs to Him. Who can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, but they cannot grasp any of His knowledge, except for what He wills. His Footstool encompasses the heavens and Earth, and their preservation does not tire Him. He is the Most High, the Magnificent.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 255)
