Our Prophet (saas) explained that at the time of the Mahdi (pbuh), a selfish, hateful character would be prevalent and people would stay away from the Mahdi. You might want to go faster, but God would not let you speed up. The system of the Mahdi is a system that progresses slowly. The followers of the Mahdi blossom out slowly as well. No matter how much they want it, no matter what they do, God makes them fill in that preordained time. Quote

For instance, God creates a big, 25 or 30 meter high fig tree from a small, tiny fig seed within 15 to 20 years and lets us eat hundreds of thousands of figs from that tree. Quote
