They have changed Islam into a pagan, polytheistic system –may God forbid- and the way God uses to bring people into line, to correct their wrong ways is through disasters and scourges, through hunger, wars and terror; God creates a devastating terror for them to change their ways, so they back down from their ways. They, in return hold on more tightly to their idols imagining that their salvation is in those idols. The truth of the matter is that such an attitude is the exact reason why they are in this state.

A great many people rebel against God or expostulate on God. They expostulate, saying, "He doesn't help me, He has taken my son away from me, He has taken my car away from me, He has taken my possessions from me." Who is the One Who gives you your child? God is. Who is the One Who takes him away from you? God is. I mean the expostulation here is very irrational; it is an act far removed from sincerity. God doesn't like such conduct.

“Sincerity” is a Word closely connected with the Qur'an. We could not know what sincerity is if we do not know the Qur'an. Sincerity means a person's not applying any pressure on his brain and thinking on the side of God in everything; it means his never expostulating on God- may God forbid, his never being troubled by God or never rebelling against God- may God forbid.

Almighty God only looks if he is a Muslim or not. I mean there is no such thing as a semi-hypocrite or a semi-Muslim. God says "Everything you do would go to your idols.” For instance, he behaves 5% for God and 95% for his idols. Everything he does would then go his idols. Or on the contrary, he behaves 95% for God and 5% for idols; that would go completely to idols as well. God says, "You should do everything you do only for Me."

Those who are after their own pleasure want to be on both sides, they want to go be with Muslims and with the others as well. They want to have fun both here and there but when they face the slightest difficulty, when something conflicts with their interests, they flee instantly. Again when things seem to be at his sweet will, he sniffs and looks around. He approaches things if he sees no problem. He imagines that he can really attain some results from such a behavior. However if he acts this treacherously, knowingly and intentionally, his reward would be ever heavier. He won't be saved by that occasional coming and going.

People resisted every Messenger sent by God. What draws God's wrath is that all the Messengers are very honest, sincere and righteous. And that those people fiercely stand aloof from them, even though they are well aware of the fact that they are mistaken and are on the wrong path and that the Messengers of God are honest, sincere and veracious. When God's Name is not recited, that region, that city, that country would become barren. What comes in its place? Hunger and economic crisis. What comes in its place? Terror. Those two dangers. Is God's Name invoked in Greece? No. Is His Name invoked in other countries? For instance, is His Name invoked in the US? What happens then? Hunger comes. Hunger enwraps them all in those vast lands. Terror, meaning fear, comes following that.

In the beginning of the verses of the Qur'an, God's Names Rahman and Rahim are recited. "Bismillahirrahmanirrahim". Rahman and Rahim, God; meaning God, the One Who knows and shows love very well and the One Who wants love from us. "Rahman" because He is the Protective, He is the One Who watches over, He is the One Who forgives, He is the One Who wants good for people.

Love is a very engrossing, a very amazing feeling. It is not like eating or drinking. It is the most pleasing blessing. If one asks, "Would you prefer eating or love?" It is love. If one asks, " Would you like us to give you a yacht or love?" The answer is love. What good would come out of a yacht? It is just a huge wooden thing. Think about going aboard in the middle of the sea? What would you do if there is no love? What good would that do? Or else let us imagine that you are given a castle but there is no love in it; that castle would turn into a giant prison. It would do no good.

What does forgiving mean? It serves love. Without forgiveness you become angry, you get cross, you reproach others and severe your connections with the concerned. When one severs connections with one person and then the other, what happens? He remains alone. This is the disaster cast upon the whole world. This time they start keeping dogs and cats at their homes as their sole companions. This is what happens without love, without heeding the Qur'an.

When the time comes and a Muslim becomes a martyr, that is what God loves the most; that is the highest form of love. That is because it means one gives his life for God. Isn't one's life precious? He says, "My Lord, You made me love my life, I love You more than my life. My life is Yours. I am Yours." This is what it means. That is why Almighty God keeps martyrs in a separate place and does not make them die. They do not taste death.

Some people never accept patience and ordeals, yet ask directly for blessings. That is unacceptable. You can neither attain Heaven like that nor attain the good pleasure of God. This is a place of trial not a place of fun. Almighty God says, "If We had desired to have some amusement, We would have derived it from Our Presence, but We did not do that." Heaven is the place of amusement, there is no such thing in this world.

When one is on the path of God, God gives him richness, abundance and beauty. But also accept the sufferings on that path, not only the blessings. It is not acceptable otherwise. You should accept the patience; accept the ordeals. Then God would rain down His blessings upon you.

A Muslim could be poor or rich. Our Prophet was poor in the beginning and God says, "Did He not find you impoverished and enrich you?" When they are made fun of during their preaching they say, "I am demoralized." They have no idea about destiny, they have no idea about the Qur'an. Thank God for seeing such a miracle. Be amazed; your good deeds are increasing while their sins are increasing. What is your goal? Is it not to attain good deeds? You then say that you are sad. Why should one be sad because his good deeds have increased?

Some people communicate religion but they say, "I am communicating religion yet they are making fun of me." What kind of a preacher are you? You do not know the first thing about the Qur'an? You hit your feet on the floor and it makes a sound right? When you communicate, they would of course make fun of you; this is the law, this is the law of God. If you are preaching religion they will of course make fun of you. Why are you surprised about it?

The blather of unbelief is so difficult that it is a trial in this world. It necessitates patience, that is for one. Secondly it necessitates attention. From which point that impertinent attitude is to be refuted should be investigated separately. These are not always from the same point of view, they all have to be proven with verses and then a rationale should be propounded.

God says; "Make allowances for people, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant." What happens when we make allowances for people? The obstacles before love is removed. Love unites. "… and turn away from the ignorant." Ignorance depresses people. Ignorance suffocates love. When you turn away from the ignorant you would be protecting love. "Command what is wrong." What happens when you command right? Love increases, love develops.
