Our Prophet (pbuh) had a piercing gaze. Why? Because his heart was always with God. He feared God. But polytheists would stare vacantly. Because they would only care for the fullness of their stomachs. They were like animals, even lower than animals. Therefore, they would have animal-like gazes. Quote
