What kind of interpretation of Islam is it if you do not preach to atheists and Darwinists? Who are we meant to command good and forbid evil to? Who are we meant to struggle against? Muslims have a duty to talk about Islam to Jews and Christians, known as the People of the Book, to atheists, to pagans and to everyone, in the kind of language they can understand.
