The things demanded by the Qur'an are only a few: Performing prayers is explained very briefly in the Qur'an, fasting is explained very briefly and giving alms is explained very briefly. God commands us to be merciful, compassionate, to avoid telling lies, to be true. He commands us to have good intentions and to love one another, to love God a lot; to be of help to one another and to avoid worldly ambitions for goods because everything belongs to God. The commands in the Qur'an are very few. The rest is all about the foulness of the unbelievers, the impertinent behavior of the unbelievers, of the people of heresy and the responses given to them. If one believes in the sufficiency of the Qur'an, radicalism would disappear; that scourge would disappear. The whole issue lies with believing in the sufficiency of the Qur'an. If you accept the sufficiency of the Qur'an, you would also feel love for Alevis, for Shias and for Wahhabis as well. You would then hold both ladies with scarves and also ladies who do not cover their heads and those who wear low-neck dresses in high esteem and respect all of them, love all of them. The Qur'an is clear. Commands in the Qur'an can be clearly understood both by a professor and an illiterate person. Religion is clear, not by implication. Trying to bring forth new forbidden (unlawful) issues even though they don't exist in the Qur'an is an idolatrous mindset. Quote

Some people keep asking, "Why didn't the moral values of Islam prevail?" You are presenting a hellish life to people in the name of Islam. The fact is that Islam means love, beauty, joy, happiness, pleasantness, honesty and cleanliness. So what are you doing? You are merely presenting them a hellish life. You forbade everything and you do that claiming that you are acting in the name of God. Do those limits you force onto people have any place in the Qur'an? No, they don't. You are simply cooking all those up yourself. Quote
