Love of God, closeness to God drives away scourges. Living by Islam meticulously, heeding the lawful and unlawful acts defined in the Qur'an is what drives away scourges.

People keep asking why do troubles find them? If you feel thankful, troubles would not follow you. But if you fail to do that, you would be deserving of those troubles. Muslims are of course tried, but would not be plagued.

God always wants love. Or else neither beauty, nor anything else would have any meaning. Think about the mansions in Heaven and think about them filled with robot-like beings, think about those robot-like beings swimming in the pools of Heaven. Such a view, may God forbid, would be painful. As God bestows that blessing on humans carrying God's soul, on those who've suffered through ordeals, difficulties, an amazing beauty would be formed. With that, Heaven would find its meaning and by that, God would be measured with His true measure.

Ingratitude is the only reason behind God's giving that many troubles in this world. Without gratitude, there would be ingratitude. All these sufferings are the retaliation of that ingratitude. Ingratitude is so horrible. It is such a grave remorselessness.

Life is beautiful for Muslims. For unbelievers life is always distressful, painful and restricted. A Muslim is always thankful; even if he eats dry bread, he thanks God for it.

Eat, drink and travel; anyone can do that. There will be hardships, there will be illnesses, there will be difficulties, there will be troubles and scourges and you will love God deeply just the same against all odds. That is what Almighty God loves the most.

God gives abundance and relief onto those who strive on His Path and casts troubles and problems on those with ill-will, as you can see. God opens the way for those striving on the good path. That is a miracle. God eases the way for those who want to advance on His path.

Some people imagine that having fun would draw the Wrath of God. Actually not being loved, being forgotten, ungratefulness and a lack of love draw the Wrath of God.

Poverty might appear to be a pitiful concept on the outside, but actually poverty makes people humble, devout and good-mannered. It makes people appreciative of blessings and makes them recognize the value of those blessings.

One should be fastidious about religion, protect and watch over Islam strongly. God protects us and watches over us. He gives us our eyes, nose, mouth and ears. He makes our hearts beat non-stop. We would drop in our tracks if it didn't. He gives us food, He creates colors for us, He creates voices, He creates beauties. God is constantly attending to all our needs.

One wakes up for the morning prayers with love. God created you with all these details and gives you uninterrupted blessings. In the morning God gives you food, He feeds you at lunch time and also at dinner. He gives you your breath constantly and has your heart working uninterruptedly day in and day out. If He stops your heart for a moment, you would be dead. If He stops your breathing for a moment, you would be dead. If you consider prayers to be too much for God, that would be foul play against God.

If you believe in God, it would be cruel not to wake up for the morning prayer. That is because you promise God and say that you love God, that you appreciate His blessings on you and that you are thankful to Him. But then you say, "I do not want to thank You!" How is that acceptable?

Every time a hypocrite makes things difficult for a Muslim, he finds he has been drawn a bit closer to hell. And troubles in this world also begin plaguing him even more.

Troubles and afflictions only sharpen and strengthen people. This is the way God disciplines. Or else a great portion of people would remain heedless.

How does one pray when he is harmed somehow? Perfectly. How is one's connection with God? Perfect. How is his respect? Perfect. But he has been harmed with troubles; he is not motivated without those troubles. Why are you waiting for those troubles to hit you? One should constantly be in the state he is when troubles hit him.

People resisted every Messenger sent by God. What draws God's wrath is that all the Messengers are very honest, sincere and righteous. And that those people fiercely stand aloof from them, even though they are well aware of the fact that they are mistaken and are on the wrong path and that the Messengers of God are honest, sincere and veracious. In that case, what they do deserves troubles so God plagues them.

Making mention of the blessings of God is crucial. One would become egoistical and abnormal when he forgets to do that, his heart would not be in anything he does: May God forbid. That is why God tells us to invoke His Name. Invoking the Name of God would bring relief and beauty to one's heart.

What does saying, "Oh my Lord, I thank You a lot," means? It means, "I do love You a lot and I am expressing my love to You." It means, "I am happy." What does saying I am happy, mean? It means I am happy because I love You.

Thanking God, saying “Alhamdulillah” is a way of showing love. "Oh Lord I do thank You," you say. What does thanking mean? If there is no love inside that, it loses its whole meaning. The meaning of it will be completed only if there is love in it.

God bestows better means, more beautiful blessings to those who are more devout and that is visible. But of course Muslims will be patient. I mean Muslims should see the beauty beneath the ordeals and the beauty beneath the blessings.

God creates millions, billions, trillions of wonders in this world, so much so that it is innumerable. God wants those blessings appreciated, He wants the artistry He created to be seen and appreciated individually. God says "If you tried to number God's blessings, you could never count them."

God says, "If you forget Me, I will forget you as well." That is something known to the human soul as well; a person would want to see the most beautiful response to their love and that is also what God wants.

God only wants love. If you begrudge that love, then God would make you feel the pains of life, death and everything else many times over.

Almighty God says, "If you love Me, if you appreciate Me with My true measure, then you will have strong love as well." That is because those who fail to appreciate God with His true measure couldn't know love. How could one who is unable to appreciate his Beloved know love?
