When a young girl lives her life with profound faith, love and radiance, when she is brought up with a healthy, sound and reasonable upbringing, she becomes very lively and very beautiful. But that is not what they do. They say, “what happens if I become faithless?” That kills them spiritually. And when they die spiritually, they die physically as well.

Within the course of world history, they [bigots] have generally turned this world into a living hell for women. When born a woman, she doesn’t have the opportunity to have fun, to wear what she likes or to dress up. Loving and being loved is forbidden, being joyous is forbidden, everything is forbidden for them. Let them have fun, let them be joyous and wear whatever they like. Leave them alone so that they can live in peace.

The fact that Turkey is a modern country should be emphasized thoroughly. It should be well emphasized that we are a democratic country that protects the rights of women, that advocates the arts, beauty, aesthetics and science. A misleading image has been formed about our country, portraying Turkey as inclined to radicalism: We need to eliminate that image completely.

The AK Party should advocate that women should be at least as strong as men in every sphere of life and at least as high in number as men. For instance, at least half of the National Assembly should consist of women. At least half of government officers should also be women and women should be positively discriminated towards.

Intelligence looks very good on women. I mean that intelligent expression in their eyes. For instance, a woman who gazes with birdlike, empty eyes loses all her glory, all her splendor. If one doesn't have such a genuine problem with her mind, it is such witlessness for a woman to accept such an appearance.

Islam prevails everywhere. One can mention the Name of God while having fun or in a wedding. There is no such thing as saying one cannot talk about God in a place of entertainment. This is the result of a mindset that tries to spread irreligiousness presenting it as if it is something in demand. That is because people are very fond of music and entertainment. These people say “Do not talk about God when there is music and entertainment. Simply keep quiet.” Irreligiousness is the result of such a mentality.

Women are the manifestations of God. Love for women stems from love of God. It stems from the love felt for the manifestations of God. God manifests Himself with His Name "An-Nur", "Al-Jamal". All beauties belong to God.

Radicals regard women as evil, they see them as the source of sins that ruin men, destroy families and harm humanity. I mean, misogyny is very widespread and intense among radicals.

Women are ruined in the traditionalist orthodox understanding of Islam. They can neither have the freedom to dress up, nor to laugh, or to sit properly or to walk about as they like. Even their eating as they wish is an offense. They [the radicals] say, "If you let them eat a lot, they would go rampant and cause you troubles. If you let them wear beautiful clothes they would attempt to go out to the streets to show off."

Some people believe that it is not possible to think about God while having fun. For instance, when one goes to a wedding or a disco, or when one listens to music on the radio, they believe that God should be forgotten to do so. That is very wrong.

Religion is a system that gathers all the beauties of the world inside. There is joy in religion, there is merriness, there is fun, there is music in religion. Ladies can wander around comfortably, they can wear revealing clothes if they like and cover their heads if they like; no one interferes them. They can laugh as they like, they can have tattoos if they like. Religion would not interfere with such things. Religion commands us to have a good conscience and be conscientious, to be honest, to be reasonable, to be meticulous about what is lawful and what is not. Religion is the other name of joy.

Competition is something our Prophet (saas) sees as acceptable; it is something religion considers as acceptable. It is also seen in Heaven. Muslims will have fun racing each other. They will have motor races, boat races to have fun, or have footraces or horse races.

If you abide by the Qur'an you cannot say that music is unlawful, you cannot say that paintings, sculptures, having fun and laughing are unlawful; but if you are in a radical conservative system, music, paintings and sculptures are all unlawful.

The world has no aspect to enjoy things. That is because Heaven is the place to enjoy. Why should people settle for the inadequate pleasures of this world? They carry a ton of wood on their shoulders and then say, "Let us go have fun." That ton of wood on their shoulders will be lifted in the Heaven. You can then have fun. There are various hardships all around this world.

God says that, "This world is not the place for play and idle sport. The Heaven is the place for play and idle sport. This world is a place for trial." That is why if you fasten yourself to this world, you would be stuck with it, says God. But if you aim for the Hereafter, if you aim My approval, I will make you happy for all eternity, you will have fun and laugh. Those who fasten themselves to this world would merely grovel, let me say that much. They would merely wallow and flounder. Nothing else would ever happen.

Radicals prohibit everything beautiful. They preach everything that is atrocious, everything that is difficult. Their encouragement about crying is unbelievable. God refers to it as a characteristic of unbelievers. "They will cry a lot and you will laugh," God says to Muslims. And they turn everything around and tell Muslims "Do not laugh, cry a lot!" How could one's mind and soul endure this? Go do sports, eat, drink, laugh, perform your religious observances, beautify everywhere. Let the arts prevail everywhere.

Banning books is a disgraceful act.

Man cannot withstand heavy pressure. Religion removes pressure and restrictions.

Prohibitions in Islam could be counted with the fingers of a hand, yet if you try to count the halals (permissible acts) in Islam, your lifetime would not suffice to do so. The prohibitions in Islam are very few and easily be counted with the fingers of a hand. Yet halals are endless.

There is no need for prohibitions, constant supply of information would be enough. Instead of prohibiting something, their damaging nature should be explained abundantly.

If our brothers and sisters act maturely, if they have their hearts in the right place they will see that everything will be at ease. If they remove fear upon people, if they create such a mature environment there will be no need for any kind of restriction.

Bigoted mindset would even prohibit laughing. It destroys people's merriness and healthiness. It ruins people.

Both for men and for women, being spiritually and physically strong is connected with their purity and faith. What happens when you cut off the water of a flower? It would be scorched and ruined under the sun. That is the same with women and men. When they lose their faith, when they lose their honor, they would be ruined.

Girls are like flowers. It is not possible for a young girl to remain healthy without faith. That is because humans are weak. They can only remain spiritually healthy with faith; once they lose their faith they become ill and many of them become inclined to commit suicide. They constantly have suicidal thoughts. They go and smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol and do whatever it takes to ruin themselves.

May God give goodness to all of us, to all our people. May He give us peace, brotherhood, tranquility, ease, contentment and exhilaration. May God protect us from dissension, may God not set brothers against brothers. May our Lord settle the disputes among brothers and give Muslims the spirit of friendship, brotherhood and love. May God protect them from self-centeredness, arrogance, haughtiness and from greed for rank and position.
