Islam will appear in the face of this world as an utterly modern, joyous, healthy system, open to science and arts, open to beauty and aesthetics. It will appear like Heaven. Islam will not be an environment full of filth and darkness, causing people to suffer, hanging people, chopping people up, far removed from aesthetics; it will not be an environment in which filthy people are living. God would not harm Islam like that and will not let Muslims harm Islam like that.

The Prophet Solomon (pbuh) is the sultan of arts and aesthetics. He is the one who taught arts and aesthetics to the world. Christianity learned the arts from him. They have learned how palaces should be adorned, how the masjids should be adorned, how the buildings should be adorned, all from him. The palaces in Europe, the palaces of the Ottomans have all been built by emulating the palace of the Prophet Solomon (pbuh). The Prophet Solomon is the father of all palaces, he is the father of arts, aesthetics and beauty.

The Prophet Solomon (pbuh) is the forefather of the Mahdi (pbuh). Hazrat Mahdi will be very much like the Prophet Solomon (pbuh). Mahdi (pbuh) will also love arts, beauty and glory a lot. He will adorn the world. Our Prophet (saas) says that he will prosper the whole world, for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).

Those with the characteristics of the Pharaoh would be jealous when they see Muslims' success. A Muslim is an individual with the highest quality, the highest level of intelligence. A Muslim is the best person in the world. Islam does not promote a corrupt, rotten mindset.

They have misrepresented Islam as ugly and frightening. They have misrepresented it as a system of violence, as a hellish movement. They have misrepresented Muslims as killing machines, as fond of massacres, and thus caused people to take a great dislike to Islam. The fact of the matter is, however, that Islam means beauty, aesthetics, arts, reason, knowledge, culture, understanding, goodness and sincerity.

Love, beauty and art are the goals of life: Without them why would you ever bother to build bridges, why would you bother building tube tunnels from the land or under the sea? All those things would be vain. For love to exist, art and aesthetics nurturing love should be attached great importance.

Music heals the soul. We are having conversations here and we are also presenting useful information; these heal the mind. But music heals the soul. Beautiful people heal the soul as well. So our souls are healed here in our conversations.

There has to be art everywhere, the artists should be protected. By founding a Ministry of Quality and Arts, all the beauties of art should be presented to our people.

The government should protect and watch over the rights of women, freedom, democracy, music, arts and everything that is beautiful. The government should look out for quality and aesthetics and state that "these are the characteristics of the Turkish Nation."

In bigotry, homes lack quality, their cars lack quality, their streets lack quality. An incomprehensible degeneracy pervades around them. The quality of the clothes goes bad, the quality of paintings, food and everything goes bad and becomes blunt. Bigotry advocates this bluntness, this crassness and this lack of quality and that is a grave danger. We need to be very cautious against that.

A country in which women lack quality, could never attain quality and success. Such a country can never attain quality, can never be modern and European. If women in a country are not enlightened, free, happy and well-groomed, if they are not free in their joy, in their laughter, in sports, in their eating, etc., such a country can never be an enlightened country. Such a country would be dark and every country that becomes overcast would definitely be ruined. May God forbid.

Perform your prayers five times a day, count beads all night long but have high quality. If you want to cover your head, do so, but do it in style and with quality. Using ugly wraps and cloths is unacceptable. Women used to cover themselves up in the Ottoman times as well but they were like amazing works of art. This was how women appeared before people, like flowers. That is nothing that would prevent being religious.

Any state lacking quality would collapse. Any state that oppresses women would be ruined. That is because half of all people are women. There will be no relief or comfort if women are oppressed there. God takes revenge.

If we become Europeans, be enlightened and loving, if we hold women in high esteem, if it is seen that women are free in our country, if we attach importance to the arts, sciences, aesthetics, we would attain the highest quality. Anything other than that would cause our ruin.

If there is no quality in a country, it means there is nothing left for that country, may God forbid. Without quality, there would be no life, no art. Since life is intertwined with the arts, we give the name “quality” to the beauty that appears in there.

When they decide to tear down a country, they first turn its people into loveless, crude, brutal, vindictive crowds that have no inclination towards art or anything that is beautiful. Such people can no longer love anyone, any group, or any other country for that matter. After this first stage is completed, it becomes easier for them to bring down that nation.

The main characteristic of Asia is that a lack of quality rules in Asia. Human life has no value in Asia. I am not saying this about everywhere in Asia, but in general they regard people as machines. Turkey's European, loving, modern way of faithful thinking, full of love for God, will put away this dreadfulness. We will be a role model for the whole world.

Once you unleash a lack of quality, it would be like a very deep pit. It goes on and on deeper towards disgrace. It goes on and on towards ignominy.

A meeting lacking quality, a building lacking quality, attire lacking quality would all bother people; it distresses people. Quality on the other hand unburdens one's heart. It is a blessing of the world. Quality is the other name of beauty.

You cannot see even one article from the radicals that talks about aesthetics, about love even for a single day. They do not talk about love not even for a day. Actually they find love difficult.

The owners of aesthetics and beauty prevail in the world. Those who love women would prevail in the world. Some people assume that very nice results could be attained with radicalism but the fact is that no result can ever be attained with radicalism.

Modernity, looking for high-quality, putting arts and aesthetics in the forefront would render Turkey very strong. The mentality causing coups does not come about in countries that hold arts, freedoms, quality and women's rights in high esteem.

I keep saying this insistently; had they advocated the modern understanding of Islam in Egypt, the whole of Europe and the US would have supported them. The whole world would love them, recognizing them as an amazing power as well. One should perform prayers, fast, give alms, make pilgrimage yet they should simply be modern. They resist this.

There should be music, there should be paintings, there should be statues, there should be aesthetics; young girls should be able to wander around well-groomed, young men should be able to wander around handsome and glorious. Let everywhere be like an art gallery. Then the whole world would admire Muslims.

The world would never accept an understanding of Islam that is incompatible with human nature. First and foremost, God would not accept it: Every time they attempt to bring about such a corrupt, rotten, filthy understanding of religion that reminds one of Hell, God would degrade them, humiliate them, drag them on the ground and ruin them; let me state this openly. They should forget about it.
