Sometimes the acts of Muslim might look very much like the acts of a hypocrite but that doesn't make him a hypocrite, it only means that he caught a disease. When you save him from that disease, he would go on as a Muslim. But when you apply the same treatment to the hypocrite - there is a grave danger here - the hypocrite might appear as if he is saved as well, but he continues his ways underhandedly.

Hypocrites ask the Prophet to excuse them, saying, ´Our houses are exposed,´ when they were not exposed. What do they mean by saying that their houses are exposed? They mean to say, "I have a family at home, I need to take care of them, of their education. I need to bring food to my spouse at home, I need to take care of her. My store is exposed as well. My trade is mired down, I need to take care of that." Well my brother, alright, but they are killing, martyring Muslims all over. Is your store more important or their being martyred?

With faith, you commit to Almighty God Who is the Owner of everything and you feel wondrously at ease. For Muslims, meteorites are wandering in the sky like lambs. But for an irreligious person they are horrifying monsters. For instance, the magma underneath us is like lukewarm milk for us. But it is like hell for an irreligious person, a sizzling hell that would burn them. Our hearts are at ease because we fear only God. We know how God would command it; we know that the magma is under the command of God. We know that every single atom in the magma is invoking the name of God and that it all submits to God.

Hypocrites deny their immorality until the last minute. They do not accept it, even in the Hereafter. They act garrulous but Almighty God stops their speech. God takes away their verbosity.

Hypocrites provide great advantages for Muslims. First of all, their existence increase the fervency and enthusiasm of Muslims. It increases their determination for struggling on the path of God, broadens their horizons and increases their vigilance. It mitigates their lassitude and languish in case they have such weaknesses. They become bolder and more sincere.

Family, getting married, having children are all matters that the hypocrites prefer to religion. That is why they remain irresolute between religion and their idols. Hypocrites idolize their families; they idolize their children. They regard them as leverage against Islam.

An insincere person will try to see Muslims as bad people and unbelievers as good people; he begins to turn everything upside down in his mind. But when a Muslim sees the existence of God with all its glory, which happens naturally when a person looks around himself sincerely, he will immediately want to follow the wisdom in the Qur'an.

In their twisted minds, the hypocrites do not respect Muslims but feel an incredible respect for unbelievers and hold them in high esteem.

The Companions of our Prophet (saas) always strove for the sake of God. But the hypocrites always had excuses like ‘our houses are exposed' or ‘we would have come if we knew how’. However, if they were told that they would be given gold, they would have immediately obliged. That is because it would have served their interests. However, one's interests should always be in showing good morality; one should choose faith and reward from God instead of gold. Otherwise one would start to turn into an animal.

One thing about hypocrites is that they want to make things difficult for Muslims. In their eyes, the more harm they can do to them, the better. They want to upset Muslims verbally, and make them uneasy, and spread the idea that Muslims will do bad things. Even the smallest amount of harm is still very valuable in their eyes. Yet the harm they imagine they are doing to Muslims always ends in Muslims earning more merit in the Sight of God, and in protecting them from evil.

Every time a hypocrite makes things difficult for a Muslim, he finds he has been drawn a bit closer to hell. And troubles in this world also begin plaguing him even more.

Almighty God wants us to be in a state of hope and fear. He says, ‘Do not say your conscience is clear and you will not go to hell.’ Because He speaks of people who become Muslims after being unbelievers, but who then fall back into unbelief, and then become Muslims again. In other words, God can take one’s soul and later give it back. He can make that happen. May God forbid. Feeling certain of something does not mean it is true.

Hypocrites are always looking for filth. In the same way that the devil never tires of committing evil, so the hypocrite is always on the lookout for new adventures, since he also has a devilish soul.

Living by Islam means beginning to live entirely in accordance with one’s conscience. It means entirely abandoning the mentality of denying the existence of God.

The hypocrite is always working against Muslims. He spends 24 hours a day wondering what devilish things to do. But since the means at his disposal are limited, so is his range of activity.

The hypocrite is a devilish model of a human being. He is always dishonorable. He commits one foul deed after another. He never stops, because his lower self is under the control of the devil.

People living in the swamp of unbelief are seriously polluted by that impurity. That smudge is seen on them. It reverberates on their flesh and bones, in their skin, in their gaze, in everything they have. That ruthless smudge of that merciless world contaminates them all over. When that person starts living by Islam, that smudge would leave that person gradually.

“I can live by faith and be together with those lacking faith at the same time,” he says. That is when hypocrisy begins. If you act together with the Prophet and with Muslims, then God will love you. But if you abandon Muslims and think you are being very clever, that is no good.

Trusting in unbelief but not in Muslims, that kind of hypocritical way of thinking, is something that attracts the wrath of God.

Hypocrites think, “Muslims may one day be scattered and crushed, but unbelief can never be destroyed,’ They have always regarded unbelief as powerful, and they have always ended up defeated.

The hypocrite wishes to return to his old beliefs and lifestyle at the first opportunity. His mind is always full of unbelief. That idea never leaves his head. After becoming a Muslim he still wishes to return to his old immorality, wild ways, lack of character, dishonor or whatever. He cannot forget that life of unbelief. He goes round and round but always ends up in the same place.

The hypocrite is blatantly immoral. He serves people of unbelief like a slave, makes all kinds of sacrifices for them with his insane energy and does everything that he can for them just to make life difficult for believers.

The hypocrite is certain he is a victim of injustice, and that is why he has this hatred of believers. He also thinks that system of unbelief is very just, and he praises it lavishly.

The hypocrite is a master when it comes to supporting and helping unbelief. Verses about the hypocrites say that hypocrites provide enormous intelligence for unbelief, but that when they see a weakness in unbelief, they flee that, too.

If you run after the transient world, God would make it constantly run away from you and the world would then become a trouble for you. However, the world would become beautiful with self-sacrificing people. For instance, our Prophet (saas) was very altruistic and selfless. His companions were very altruistic and selfless. None of them were self-seeking. Societies with self-seeking people collapse.
