Quote
Humans have nothing to be arrogant about. You are a being, made up of flesh and bones and blood, you have natural needs, why is it that you put on airs? You are going to die eventually, why are you putting on an act? And life ends in a very short while. Every dead body bloats and explodes inside the grave. There is nothing for you to put on airs about; humans are piteous beings.

Where is the verse in the Qur'an that deems music unlawful? Where is the verse in the Qur'an that deems paintings unlawful? What gave you that idea? There is no such ban in the Qur'an. Consequently, by doing so, you have created a hell for yourself. You have made lawful things unlawful and you hope that you will be given a beautiful reward in the Hereafter. May God protect you from Hell. Coming up with prohibitions in the name of God means ascribing partners to God.

Quote
Music is lawful by religion, paintings are lawful, having fun is lawful, sculpture is lawful. I mean, lawful things are innumerable. Things that are forbidden by religion are concisely defined in the Qur'an and they are very few. God says, 'I have deemed everything other than those lawful for you.' How do you come up with all those forbidden acts on your own?

Going by one's good conscience is difficult, but the fruit of it is beautiful. Logic, on the other hand, is easy to follow but its fruit is bitter.

Quote
The first affliction that comes upon a person when he does not act by his good conscience is the loss of his mind. Such a person would lose his mind. Would he be aware of his situation? No, he won't be aware: That is because he would be left to his intelligence alone, so he cannot understand his situation. His mind would be lost and he would be left to his intelligence alone. God generally does not take away one's intelligence, but He takes away his mind. Except for some rare occasions, God does not take away one's intelligence. However when God takes away one's mind, his intelligence would no longer have any use for him. His intelligence would only get him into troubles from then on. Intelligence would make him grovel.

Every disgusting act turns against the perpetrator of that act. Every tactic, every plot, every immoral act, every lie they come up with turns against them. Before all else, the radiance on their faces is taken and they lose their heads.

Quote
Watch the world carefully; you will see that 99% of the world acts by their logic. And all of them suffer. Show me one man who acts with his logic and who does not suffer in misery. They are all groveling. They live in incomprehensible pain. Sincere people who act with their good conscience on the other hand live a very beautiful life. Well, yes they do suffer through ordeals and face difficulties as well, but eventually God gives them relief.

Quote
The Prophet Joseph (pbuh) is an honest person through and through. He did not act with his instincts but with his good conscience. Where did his good conscience take him? To prison. He placed his trust in God and what happened eventually? Almighty God made him the Sultan of Egypt. He ate the most beautiful food, wore the most beautiful clothes and is given the most beautiful ranks in Heaven.

Quote
It might appear as if one would lose a lot when he goes by his good conscience. Actually, that would be the right form of behavior. For instance, prophets act in line with their good conscience and go to war, suffer through ordeals and pains. But eventually they become the best ones in the world.

Quote
No one would ever dare to act disdainfully in the Sight of God. They cannot respond in such a disdainful manner. God says, 'I will not let them speak in the Hereafter.' God says, 'slink away into it and do not speak to Me.' After God tells them not to speak, they cannot speak any more. Their tongues will be tied, God paralyzes their tongues.

When sending off a martyr they should do so with their own uniforms that they were martyred in, with their bloody uniforms without putting them into a coffin, out in the open. They should put them on a Turkish flag with their clothes drenched in blood and walk their blessed bodies around in the city, making the place resound with salawats, saying Allahu Akbar. That tension which will be formed would turn into an inconceivable power. The spiritual power it will provide would make the whole world quiver, let me tell you that much. Everyone would come to their senses.

All the riches escape with an immense speed from those who lack faith, from those who are weak in faith. The world constantly escapes from such people. They madly chase after worldly means and while they do so, a devastating pain settles in their souls. However, that is not what happens for a sincere Muslim. The worldly means and goods rain down on him. He escapes from goods and worldly goals but the world catches up with him and gushes over him.

Quote
It might appear as if a person loses a lot while acting in all sincerity; the fact is, however, that person gains a lot in secret. You look at that person and see that he gets into trouble and loses his goods, his means. However God eventually gives him abundance. In the meantime, the other one might think that he will attain goods and means by crushing his good conscience but the world escapes from him while he pursues worldly goals. That person would suffer enormously. That is a devastating groveling, a devastating chase.

Quote
There is no place for superstitions in faith. Religion is very rationalistic; the miracles of the Qur'an, presented with scientific evidence and facts leading to faith, all conform with rationality. The path of reason should be opened. The way to think rationally should be demonstrated. The beauty of thinking conscientiously and sincerely should be taught. When one thinks sincerely, he would attain faith anyway.

It has nothing to do with showing a lot of effort. The whole point is to love God sincerely; to love God with a deep, profound love. If you love God, you are strong. I mean if you love God a lot, you would definitely be victorious. Look I am not saying that “if you believe in God”, I am saying “if you love God”. Actually to feel love, you have to believe in Him.

Artists are people of love. People of love live on love. Artists would die if you do not show love to them. They won't be able to perform art either. You need to applaud them, encourage them, compliment them, award them and blandish them. They need to know that they are loved to feel exuberant.

Fervent love to twelve imams is nice. Some people only talk about twelve imams very rarely. That is not something pleasant, they will not be able to make use of their benediction. Those who do not love the twelve imams do not love our Prophet (saas), either: Those who do not love Hazrat Ali (ra) do not love our Prophet (saas), either.

I love every Muslim because they say, "La Ilaha Illa Allah Muhammad Ar-Rasul Allah." If they have a fault, I correct them by talking to them, not by bombing them, not by killing them. Was our Prophet (saas) preaching the message of God in Sud'Ukaz (the Market of Ukaz) by killing them? He was talking to them one by one. There were hypocrites, Buddhists, unbelievers, Masons around and he used to talk to every one of them.

We cannot search for all those acts that are lawful in the Qur'an. Only the unlawful acts can be searched for in the Qur'an. That is because the number of unlawful acts is very few. When there is a proof in the Qur'an for something being unlawful, there is nothing further to discuss . But if there is no command in the Qur'an proving that something is unlawful, nothing can be banned based on superstitions.

The body of the martyr should be shown all around the city. The funerals of martyrs are important. The invocations saying "Allahu Akbar" should resound in the city. When courses on national conscience take their place in the curriculum, youngsters will become keen and active. Instead they now go and play dice, etc. Most are only concerned about where they can get their next fix of drugs or of whatever they engage themselves with. That is what happens when a person does not have a cause to fight for. Why don't the PKK terrorists use drugs? Because they do have a cause to fight for, albeit an evil, atrocious, immoral one. Our youngsters too should have a goal to fight for.

Those who do not have faith in the Hereafter would be distressed; their faces, their souls would be darkened. Crying is not acceptable for us. We did not cry in Çanakkale. We did not cry in Dumlupınar. We did not cry in Malazgirt. Why would we cry? As a nation who desires martyrdom, as a nation who regards martyrdom as an honor, why would we cry for martyrs?

The 55th verse of Surat An-Nur refers to the global sovereignty of the moral values of the Qur'an. The whole of Surat Al-Kahf depicts the system of the Mahdi. Surah Yusuf and the story of the Prophet Solomon (pbuh) is almost a summary of the system of the Mahdi.

Some people keep asking, "Why didn't the moral values of Islam prevail?" You are presenting a hellish life to people in the name of Islam. The fact is that Islam means love, beauty, joy, happiness, pleasantness, honesty and cleanliness. So what are you doing? You are merely presenting them a hellish life. You forbade everything and you do that claiming that you are acting in the name of God. Do those limits you force onto people have any place in the Qur'an? No, they don't. You are simply cooking all those up yourself.

They are trying to alienate people from religion. For instance they say, 'There is no music in religion.' People then take a dislike towards religion. What else? They say, 'There are no paintings in religion.' Laughing? They claim that it is unlawful as well. Well then my brother, are you trying to make people insane? According to their twisted minds, young girls are unable to put on makeup, they are unable to be sleek. Set them free, let them have fun and be beautiful. Instead, they are presenting a hellish life in the name of religion.

The best course of action is to be forgiving, to act as people of peace, to see goodness in everything. People are created as weak, they are not strong enough to deal with troubles. Feeling rage towards one, messing with another person, screaming at them, conspiring against another: All you have is a small, weak body. Having a glorious, scary army is the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas). For instance, he didn't let the soldiers cut their mustaches short; they even grew their nails. The Companions of our Prophet (saas) had such a ravenous and scary appearance. They had handlebar moustaches reaching till the ends of their ears. Those who looked at them were shivering with fear, they feared them greatly. It would be great if our soldiers had such a staggering appearance.
