There are some people trying to make it lawful to insult and curse the state. No state of law would accept that.

Muslims are one another’s bothers. If one has a mistake, you simply give advice; resorting to violence and insults is not acceptable.

A person may not have faith or he may not believe in God’s existence but it’s unacceptable for him to slander the religion. Slandering religion and faith is not freedom of expression. Reviling believers is not freedom of expression.

Football is good for young people as a fun, socializing and energizing activity. But there should be no swearing, no insults or aggression.

There is no such thing as ‘the freedom to insult’ in any democratic country. Criticism and opinions must be expressed within the boundaries of respect.

When someone is subject to slander or harassment, it is his or her natural right to demand justice from the legal system.

Freedom of thought does not mean insulting everyone, upsetting everyone, hurting them and attempting to suffocate their joy and love. Love should be taken as basis. The concept of freedom of thought is sacred; that is okay, but love is even more sacred, kindness is even more sacred, respect is even more sacred.

Opinions are nice. Freedoms are nice. Criticisms are nice as well, but only if done in kindness. When bad language is used, the laws, the legal system makes it right.

There is no freedom for cursing. No one should say, “I have the freedom of cursing, I have the freedom to insult others.” Everyone has freedom of speech but there is no such thing as freedom to insult. If one says I want to curse anyway, the law gets hold of him.

Let everyone speak out their opinions, let everyone criticize. Why is there the need for curses, for defamations? Curses burn out those who curse. They would have their hearts torn out. They would lose their happiness and joy. They would lose the radiant light in their faces. That would give them pain.

Anyone who likes can criticize religion but no one can insult. I criticize communism but I would not let anyone insult communism, I would not let anyone curse them.

The laws and the legal system aim to bring forth beautiful and beneficial people. Legal system is a blessing to prevent all kinds of harms. We've seen the good in it. For instance Fazıl Say no longer says any inappropriate things against people, he avoids making indecorous statements. His statements are much more decent and much more appropriate now and that is a good thing. This means the law has had a positive effect on him.

There will be slanders and curses casted upon the system of the Mahdi, upon the Muslims. Muslims should not be affected by that, they should not be afraid of that.

Just like no one would ever let anyone revile against themselves, we would never let anyone say libelous words about God, may God forbid.

Our Master Tayyip has always lived a life full of sufferings. Those insults he had been subjected to will turn to him as good deeds.

Our friends should approach our Master Tayyip more compassionately. Being subjected to a continuous spirit of hatred would harm a person’s psyche deeply and it would wear him out. Gross insults to the Prime Minister and his kin are both a sin and a shame.

Freedom of speech is for expressing ideas, not for cursing.

There are some people with the mentality that states “I persistently want to insult.” We, as a nation, will not get used to insults. But you will get used to be punished so long as you carry on your insults.

We are not against any idea, we are against insults and cursing. They cannot make us get used to insults and cursing.

We would never let anyone affront neither Allah –may Allah forbid- nor our religion, nor Muslims, nor ourselves. They should forget about that.

You cannot revile anyone in any place of the world. There is no such right of revilement. If you give them the right to revile, then you would be giving the right to beat and swear and following that you would be giving them the right to kill as well.

Muslims have self-esteem, they have personal dignity, they have honor and pride. They would not let anyone revile them. They are trying to make Muslims get used to being reviled. We would not accept that. That would not happen.

The best way of reacting to an insult is reacting by means of legal system.

When those who insult are given the necessary legal retribution, they no longer do that. They correct their turns of phrases. That means that they know how to speak nicely. Laws and the justice system has such a disciplinary, such a nice aspect.

Those who revile others and react when lawsuits are brought against them for that reason, file lawsuits themselves when the same insults are sent back to them. That is a clear proof of their insincerity.
