A coup is an action that abolishes respect for humanity. One who advocates coups cannot advocate Islam. Democracy exists in Islam.

Democratic struggle; even with harshest words or opposition is acceptable. But firing at civilians can never be accepted.

Bigots had caused a steel barrier to be built between Islam and the people. We crushed this set in the ideological sense. We eliminated the gloom of the traditionalist conception of Islam. Now modern, intellectual people have comprehended the real nature of Islam and they have widely embraced it. Our works have pulverized the steel wall between people and Islam.

We showed the beautiful spirit of Islam to all our nation. An enlightened, reasonable, bright conception of Islam is reigning everywhere.

Turkey should be a country in which people from all walks of life can live altogether in peace.

The way to gridlock coups is modernism, high-quailty, arts and all kinds of freedom.

May God render our people instrumental in making the morality of Islam prevail in the world. May He make His Mahdi and Jesus Messiah appear and honor us with their appearance.

Everyone should keep their hearts at ease, our people would never stand behind an anti-democratic movement that is against freedoms.

The reaction of our people shows their love for democracy and their instinct to protect our homeland and our nation.

One may oppose the government, but attempting to overthrow a government with a coup is not acceptable. Struggle is only with democracy.

All around the world women need to be free. Anyone who wants to wear revealing clothes must be able to wear them. Everyone needs to be free.

In the absence of variety in people, arts, music and aesthetics, the world will turn out to be like hell. Freedom of women is a fundamental asset.

Women need to be free as they like and they should live in safety.

All our people would support the efforts to broaden the freedoms defined in the constitution. What is important is to preserve our unitary structure.

We preach and live by a vivacious model of Islam accepted by both reason and good conscience which the people of the world can take as a role model.

In the model of Islam that we preach there is an enlightened, progressive, sincere and vivacious spirit that is hand in hand with the arts and beauty. We preach and live by the Islam explained in the Qur'an.

Our people would never ever allow any attempt against our democracy.

"There is no compulsion where religion is concerned." This is a command of God. This is also a summary of secularism.

We are a modern, secular, enlightened, democratic community that takes everything beautiful as a basis, that demands what is elegant and high-quality, that are keen on what is lawful and what is not.

We learn the most right, beautiful and sensible form of secularism by way of the Qur'an. Islam advocates secularism.

They imagine that Islam will cease to exist when there is secularism. Secularism means irreligious and religious people living together in comfort. Islam guarantees the coexistence of both irreligious and religious people.

The Quran heavily preaches secularism. God says in the verse of the Quran; "Say: 'You have your religion and I have my religion'" (Qur’an, 109/6). This verse is a short summary of secularism.

Secularism means the nonbelievers, Christians, Jews, Muslims, everyone will practice their beliefs with ease; no one will be able to interfere with their beliefs. There will be no compulsion or oppression. This is what secularism means. Everyone will be free to live their lives any way they want.

The right and left wing that are against the coup and violence in Turkey should come together in unity and act in alliance.

There is only one explanation of firing at civilians from tanks: This is the biggest treachery and ignominy in all of history.
