Claiming that it is not possible to have fun and entertainment in an environment in which the Qur’an and religion is discussed would mean taking Islam out of a wide expanse of life. The Qur’an is everywhere in Anatolia, they are dancing halay and have their weddings in houses where there are copies of the Qur’an. Women and men of Black Sea play horon together. They have the Qur’an with them as well. In the Southeast of Turkey, women dance halay together with men. They too have the Qur’an. God’s name is mentioned and verses are read, the Prophets are talked about in djemevi in which women and men whirl together. Do they think all those should be banned as well? Since such a thing would not be acceptable, it is important to create an environment in which people will be able live according to their thoughts and their faiths comfortably.

Every person has the right to live freely according to their belief. But bigotry does not know how to approach people with compassion.

There is freedom of faith in Turkey. The members of all religious sects are free to practice their faith as they see fit.

There is nothing wrong with communicating with people with different ideas, from different backgrounds and exchanging ideas with them.

The main principle of Freemasonry is freedom of thought, respect for ideas, peace, friendship and brotherhood. Yet not every Mason can match that level of refinement. Surely there can be ignorant people among Masons that don't respect ladies and all humans in general, or who have no respect for art or refinement.

It is not right to be fixated on an idea. If there is goodness in one thing, then it would be right to go towards it.

People often side with people they consider to be strong. This must not be the criterion to adopt an opinion.

Some people remain under the influence of mass psychology. Many people are led by a single person’s opinion. Free opinion is rare and precious.

Turkey is a modern country, one in which people live freely as they like. We don’t accept any backwards steps regarding our modernity.

Turkey should be a country in which people from all walks of life can live altogether in peace.

Reasonable people are nice, no matter if they are from the right wing or left. It is important to have people who can communicate with one another, who can share their opinions.

A person who is under the influence of bigotry can’t enjoy freedom of thought; he remains under the effect of his milieu.

No one has the liberty to be a terrorist. No one has the liberty to oppress others. No one has the liberty to behave immorally. No one has the liberty to act vilely and treacherously. However, everyone should have the liberty to be pious and believe in whatever they want.

Freedom of faith; this is the greatest beauty the CHP can provide. They should be close to religious communities. They should show that they will present love to everyone.

Freedom of thought does not mean insulting everyone, upsetting everyone, hurting them and attempting to suffocate their joy and love. Love should be taken as basis. The concept of freedom of thought is sacred; that is okay, but love is even more sacred, kindness is even more sacred, respect is even more sacred.

When religion is set free, abundance comes to that country. This is the sole reason behind the plentitude in US; the fact that religion is free there. When religion is set free in Turkey, Turkey will be radiant and plentitude will come upon Turkey as well.

Being a communist is not an offense but being a terrorist, anarchist, ferocious organization is an offense. Otherwise if it were to remain on the intellectual level, be a communist, defend any other ideology you like we would not be concerned by any of them. You can be an atheist, you can be a communist, but if you attempt to employ violence and terror, we would be standing against you. We would not let you do that.

The vast majority of the Turkish people are Ataturkist, intellectual people who have progressive thoughts, who like freedoms, who understand Islam as it was in the time of the Companions, people who advocate modern Islam. All our youth are modern. Consequently it would not be possible to enforce bigoted, fanatical understanding of Islam in Turkey.

If a person is intimidated and forced into accepting an opinion, hatred will be formed in his/her subconscious towards that opinion. People should be warmed into ideas by making them love these ideas, by persuasion and by gentle placation. It should be done reasonably and peacefully through democratic means.

May God bless the martyrdom of all our soldiers who’ve been martyred. We cherish and celebrate their martyrdom. May God make our army victorious in the air, on the sea and on the land.

Making a joke is not something easy. It requires intelligence, care and will-power. The jokes most people make generally aim to offend and humiliate the other party. These cannot be regarded as jokes. Such a language would be impertinent. Behaviors aimed to nourish one’s own arrogance and disgrace the other side are unacceptable.

Holding tight to the rope of God means living by the Qur’an uncompromisingly. An overall devastation occurs once one starts making concessions about the Qur’an.

A sharp mutual prejudice used to rule between the religious conservative section and the secular section of the society. A flood of rage was waiting at the door and the society was divided into two in the smallest incident. We have removed that rage and reconciled these two. Our modern, enlightened and vivacious side, and our being very devout has been the living proof showing that both sides can come to terms and reconcile.

Women will be free in the perfect sense of the word during the time of the Mahdi.

To attain perfection, there is need for negativity. Negativity is necessary for the development of the soul and mind. Had everyone been positive and good and beautiful, our spiritual world wouldn’t have developed. Things that appear to be abnormal and negative make the soul more careful, more polite and more stable.
