Poverty might appear to be a pitiful concept on the outside, but actually poverty makes people humble, devout and good-mannered. It makes people appreciative of blessings and makes them recognize the value of those blessings.

People believe in God's forgiveness but they do not want to be forgiving; that is not acceptable. Just like a person knows that God would forgive him, he has to know to be forgiving as well.

Quote
Forgiveness is a characteristic God appreciates greatly. That is because revenge might give a lowly pleasure to one's soul, but forgiving is hard; I mean it [forgiveness] necessitates will-power and wisdom. That is because in forgiveness one does not achieve satisfaction, but revenge might bring satisfaction. That is why God takes forgiveness as a basis.

Quote
If you do not put your trust in God, God would not give you people that you can trust. He would make everyone of them a trouble for you. If you take on God, God would take on you. If you regard God as powerless - may God forbid - God would make you come across powerless people.

Quote
A Muslim should fiercely stay away from fear of the future. That [fear of the future] means you do not put your trust in God but in that house you bought, or in the money you've saved up somewhere. God would devastate you. Furthermore, what good would that money be to you once God brings troubles upon you? Such a thing is not acceptable. No one dies out of hunger, no one who placed his trust in God has ever been harmed.
Adnan Oktar

Quote
Fear of the future is religiously unlawful, a Muslim cannot think that way. God is the One Who creates every single second of our lives. All the precautions you take might come back to you as troubles. For instance, you might think about saving money but that might all end up going for cancer treatment or somehow otherwise be spent. You buy a house and God makes it collapse on top of you. One cannot put his trust in such things, but only in God. Anything other than that would be very wrong and would offend God.

Sentimentality and anger are beneath Muslims. That is because a Muslim always acts with God in mind. He always thinks rationally and equitably. He never forgets that God is the One Who creates everything, even those things that appear to be the most horrible incidents.

Quote
God is the Creator of even the maddest or the most abnormal acts. Individuals are not the perpetrators; no one can ever act outside destiny. That is why one needs to be moderate, poised and rational when evaluating incidents taking place.

Quote
A Muslim would not respond to foolishness with foolishness, to instability with instability, to rage with rage, to anger with anger. One needs to be rational and always be aware of the fact that God is with him; that is because God is the One Who makes the others do those abnormal acts. Consequently a Muslim would be aware of the fact that no one is an independent being, so he would not worry.

Quote
One should never severe his connection with God. Many things could happen that might appear to be against him, many things might go wrong, but one should nevertheless follow a very rational policy that doesn't mind stepping back when necessary. Muslims are humble people and assume God's sense of right and wrong. Acting moderately as much as possible is what suits a Muslim. Sudden and unrestrained reactions would block one's rationality.

Assuming a humble attitude would not bring abatement for Muslims, it is not something depreciative. A Muslim is not in a position to be worried about his pride, but rather about the good of Islam.

God does not want us to have only medium wisdom while preaching Islam and disseminating His Message. He wants us to have superior wisdom. Islam would not be disseminated with a mediocre rationality and wisdom; that is because some anti-Islam fronts are in a struggle against Muslims in an ambitious alliance by advocating numerous other philosophies.

The traditionalist orthodox system imagines that the more they exert pressure in the name of God, the more they move closer to God: Actually, in such an environment, not only do people not get closer to God but they drift further apart from God and religion and they also lose their mental stability.

Quote
Modernity, before all else, brings about sanity. In a bigoted system, the human mind cannot operate normally. In a bigoted environment people become half-insane. Look around and you will see that many of them are mentally unstable. In modern societies, the human mind operates sanely and rationally.

It is explicitly stated in the Surah An-Nur, verse 55 - and also in many other verses - that the Islamic world will unite. In the Qur'an, Muslims say, “O Lord, make us leader of those who are God-fearing." That means the Islamic world has a leader, a chief. There is no mention of a leaderless society in the Qur'an, all the societies in the Qur'an have a leader. The Islamic world will have a leader [as well]. They have nothing [they can use] to deny that.

If you are hateful towards Israel, reject anything that is modern, live in filthy houses, if you are loveless and hateful towards Russians, Greeks, Iranians, Shias, Alawites, Wahhabis, if you keep dropping innuendos about everyone; then you would be falling in the clutches of satan. Don't you see the atrocious position you are in? These are all very wrong. Love is the only thing a Muslim knows, so you need to be full of love.

Our Prophet (saas) was the most modern person of his time, the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) was the most modern person of his time. Some people imagine that struggling against modernity is a necessity of Islam. Satan deceives them and shows it as a wrongful path. Modernity is a blessing. Heaven is the most modern place the human mind can perceive of. Muslims should target modernity.

Women should be free to wear what they like and live at ease all around the world. Any country that doesn't provide that freedom has been ruined. The countries in which women enjoy freedom become the most modern, most peaceful and most content countries of the world. Anything other than that is not possible. Let those wearing chadors wear it as they like, let those wearing veils wear it as they like, everyone should be free. Ladies should not be oppressed.

They present Christmas as if it is a tragedy. We celebrated the birthday of our Prophet (saas) with pride and we do so every year. Why are they appalled with the birthday of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh)? He too is a prophet of Islam. He too is one of our Prophets.

Perform your prayers five times a day, count beads all night long but have high quality. If you want to cover your head, do so, but do it in style and with quality. Using ugly wraps and cloths is unacceptable. Women used to cover themselves up in the Ottoman times as well but they were like amazing works of art. This was how women appeared before people, like flowers. That is nothing that would prevent being religious.

It would be very strange for a Muslim not to know anything about the Torah and the Gospels. God refers to the Torah and the Gospels in the Qur'an. The only weapon we have is our insistence on love that stems from faith and that is all. We need to be devoutly religious but also full of love. We need to be avoid being vindictive, we need to try to make peace between everyone and strive for everyone's well-being.

When they talk about religion they assume that it is all about memorizing the verses, knowing the Qur'an by heart and reciting the verses with tajwid, being careful about idgham (merging). Actually the essence and the wisdom in the Qur'an is what is important. I mean putting the meaning in the Qur'an into practice is important, not reciting the Qur'an by being careful with idgham and qalqalah (adding a slight bounce or reduced vowel sound). Arabs can do that effortlessly in the best manner, but there are also a lot of them who do not put those verses into life, into practice.

Our Prophet (saas) did not call people to himself, but to the Qur'an. None of the prophets called people to themselves but rather, to the Books of God. Wisdom is a beauty God likes. Some people talk plenty but lack wisdom. Wisdom has nothing to do with a lot of knowledge and a lot of verbalism. One might be a walking library but lack that profundity and fail to perceive the wisdom behind that knowledge. Such people only concentrate on the arrogance and snobbery knowledge could bring them. Actually knowledge can only be used for wisdom.

Neither the Last Day nor death would have any aspect that would make Muslims uneasy. It would offend God if Muslims think that they would be persecuted or suffer somehow. The whole issue is in submitting to God wholeheartedly and in loving God. Once you attain that, you would progress steadily on the right path. You might want to go faster, but God would not let you speed up. The system of the Mahdi is a system that progresses slowly. The followers of the Mahdi blossom out slowly as well. No matter how much they want it, no matter what they do, God makes them fill in that preordained time.

Having fun, Islam, the Qur'an, eating and drinking and everything else; life is a whole with all its entirety. There is no life far-remote from Islam. I mean there is no such thing to call "this part is Islamic and this part is non-Islamic." Islam is in every breath we take; while having fun, while laughing, sleeping, lying and waking up; Islam is in everything and everywhere one can think of. Any moment of life one claims to be outside of Islam is full of unawareness and means devastation.

Quote
When people are weak in faith, they do not concern themselves with the fact that Muslims are being killed and persecuted in Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya; they do not think about the Darwinist education being given to our youth. They merely act on their instincts. They only look for where to have fun, how to enjoy themselves. They run after adventures. This nonchalance is the gravest disaster caused by the weakness in faith.

There is no such thing as the torment of the grave. You pass to a different dimension when you die. At the moment you die, you are made to feel that you are Muslim and you would instantly understand. From that peaceful feeling you feel, from your comfort you instantly get it and God would certainly never persecute His servants. There is no such thing. May God forbid, God is far beyond such an unjust, cruel understanding. He is Infinite Wisdom and Endlessly Compassionate.

The plot they devised against Turkey, against the Turks, can only be dashed by making Turkey the most modern, highest quality state that attaches utmost importance to the rights of women, arts and science. In bigotry, homes lack quality, their cars lack quality, their streets lack quality. An incomprehensible degeneracy pervades around them. The quality of the clothes goes bad, the quality of paintings, food and everything goes bad and becomes blunt. Bigotry advocates this bluntness, this crassness and this lack of quality and that is a grave danger. We need to be very cautious against that.

We have a responsibility to behave sincerely. God creates Heaven even in Hell for those who are sincere. He gives blessings to sincere Muslims from where they least expect it. When one reads the Qur'an, wisdom settles in him and he becomes completely reasonable and rational. The Qur'an is the book of reason. It is a light that causes wisdom to settle in the brain. Normally wisdom is not formed in one's brain, only intelligence. When the human brain comes into contact with the Qur'an, wisdom and reason settles in. Otherwise, wisdom cannot possibly be attained, only intelligence can.

Lying is a form of insanity and it is quite widespread among the ignorant, especially among crass people, with the aim of entertaining others and drawing attention to themselves. God has given very nice secrets that would keep one's mind sane. Before all else, one's commitment to God would keep away all immorality, all abnormality. Putting one's trust in God would take away the torment one does to himself. When he becomes patient, he would become friends with everyone around.
